16th to 19th September 2010 and Colonsay takes a deep breath and welcomes visitors and locals to our third Folk Festival.
With approximately 10 major concerts over four days; three slightly organised sessions in the hotel and innumerable disorganised sessions wherever you look, there is music and a warm welcome for everyone.
When the last concert of each day is over, our local hotel, “The Colonsay”, makes over into our Festival Club with musicians singing and playing until the bouncers come (approx 4am). After that it’s make your own entertainment. An early morning swim was a great success last year with one world famous musician attempting a shortcut home to Orkney before being reminded of his gig that afternoon.
While weekend passes for the festival are sold out, it is still worth visiting Colonsay for the weekend to enjoy the atmosphere, the pub and perhaps the odd concert. Follow the accommodation link and demand a bargain!
Should you have any queries concerning the Fleadh, an e-mail to ceolpedie@yahoo.co.uk or ceolkeith@yahoo.co.uk could (if you hit us on a good day) elicit some semblance of an answer. Phones might even sometimes be answered if you call 01951 200336 (Keith) or 01951 200157 (Pedie). Please note however that it is the norm to find us operating on island time...
Finally, none of this would be possible without the continued support of our major sponsors. So why not click on the links below and pay them a visit.
Ceòl Cholasa 2010!
